MISSOULA – A Missoula man is accused of raping two underage girls and threatening to kill one of them if she reported it.

Prosecutors say in court documents that late last summer, Cody Lane Babcock, 18, was at one of the victims’ homes to celebrate her father’s birthday.

The girl, who was under the age of 16, admitted to drinking alcohol at the party and stated that Babcock later came into her room and encouraged her to drink more.

The girl says that’s when he choked and raped her until she broke a mirror, causing him to stop.

Babcock told law enforcement that when he came into the room, the girl “came on to him” and had to fight her off until she fell and broke the mirror.

Other witnesses deny that version of the story.

A second victim, who was under 10 years old, came also came forward saying that Babcock raped her on multiple occasions while he babysat her. She also said he threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

Babcock denies sexual contact with either girl.
