MISSOULA — The University of Montana is warning students and staff to be aware of suspicious activity after the UM Police Department took three reports of burglaries and unlawful entries on Monday.

UMPD stated in an alert issued Monday evening that the reports came from the University Villages Sunday night -- specifically in Rimini and Ophir Court areas.

UMPD says that in each incident, the apartments entered were either vacant or not currently rented. Force was used to gain entry through sliding glass doors or windows.

In one incident, a carpet shampoo extractor was taken.

All UM students, staff, and faculty are asked to be aware of suspicious activities on campus grounds and to contact UMPD at (406) 243-6131 if they see something.

Monday's reports are under investigation but believed to be related.
