MISSOULA — Authorities are investigating after hate speech was discovered Monday morning at a popular Missoula trail site.
Lolo Forest Supervisor Carolyn Upton says they were notified of graffiti hate speech on the restroom facility in the Maclay Flat area on the Missoula Ranger District early Monday morning.
“We condemn this behavior on National Forest Lands. I want the community of Missoula to know that we took swift action and immediately sent staff to erase the graffiti earlier today,” Upton stated in an email.
The incident is currently under investigation by US Forest Service law enforcement.
