Two people arrested after high-speed chase in Havre

Two people were arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase in Havre on Sunday.

It happened after police initiated a traffic stop on a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro for speeding through town, according to the Havre Herald .

The driver never stopped for the officer and the chase was on through Havre.

The Camaro eventually crashed into a Chevy pickup on the 900 block of Fourth Avenue.

Police detained the driver, identified as Jaden James Blacktongue, and a 21-year-old Box Elder woman whose name has not been released.

A third person, Jaylen Crazyboy, ran away from the the scene but was eventually found and arrested.

The suspected driver, 18-year-old Blacktongue of Great Falls, was arrested on pending charges of driving without a driver’s license, reckless driving, traveling the wrong way down a one-way street, speeding, failing to stop at stop signs, obstruction, four counts of criminal endangerment, minor in possession of an intoxicant, having an open container, DUI, and a City Court warrant.

Crazyboy, 18, was also arrested and is facing pending charges of obstruction, criminal trespass to property, violation of District Court conditions, having an open container, and minor in possession of an intoxicant.

Both are being held in the Hill County Detention Center without bond.

The Havre Herald reports that police in Havre have chased more fleeing drivers in 2019 than in many previous years combined.
