PLAINS - The Knowles Fire, east of Plains, has burned 3,790 acres and is 21% contained.
Firefighters are working to strengthen containment lines and put out hotspots, especially on the fire's more active west side.
Nearly 250 personnel are working to get the blaze fully contained.
Residents of the McLaughlin area are still under a pre-evacuation notice.
The Knowles Fire began on August 17.
