The Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District continued to work on the Shorty fire Saturday.
The fire is located in the Prospect Creek drainage- about 10 miles west of Thompson Falls.
The 8 acre fire was brought to a standstill Friday, with the help of three helicopters and 50 firefighters.
Reinforcement firefighters went in Saturday to join crews that stayed behind last night.
