A human-caused fire that sparked Wednesday afternoon, four miles west of Moiese, has grown to 57 acres and is 20% contained.

The CSKT Division of Fire reports the fire is believed to have started from an unattended campfire.

A Local Type 4 organization is managing the blaze which is being fought on the ground and from the air.

No evacuations have been issued and no structures are currently threatened.

CSKT Division of Fire is reminding people to make sure their campfires are out before leaving the site and should only leave when the area is cool to the touch.

A wildfire that sparked west of Moiese on Wednesday has already burned over 10 acres.

The CSKT Division of Fire reported around 5 p.m. that the fire is burning across the Flathead River.

The wildfire had burned approximately 16 acres.

Fire officials say no structures are threatened.

The cause is under investigation.
