GLACIER NATIONAL PARK – An award-winning artist is joining Glacier National Park for the last artistic residency of the season.
Artist Jamie McHugh is set to host a movement workshop on Thursday at the West Glacier Community Building from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
McHugh is a multi-disciplinary artist and movement specialist who focuses on the interplay between the inner landscape of the human body and the outer landscape – or larger body – of the natural world.
The focus of the workshop will be to connect self and environment through sensory awareness, aesthetic appreciation and body-based mindfulness practices.
Through contemplative activities of contacting, mirroring and responding in overt and subtle ways are designed to open the door to a creative form of active engagement with the natural world.
