In Helena on Sunday, people gathered to celebrate the grand return of Front Street.
Since June of this year, the street was under construction and many businesses were concerned the construction may impact their doors from staying open.
Yet residents of Helena were persistent despite the rocky entrance to businesses like Bad Betty’s Barbecue and Loft Yoga.
Business owners hosted a "thank you" block party to show their appreciation for their customers.
Calvin Richards, owner of Bad Betty’s, said, “Thought we would get the whole community together on the block, and invite everybody down and serve them some brunch, coffee and cocktails.”
Hannah Nordhagen, owner of Loft Yoga, shared her thoughts and gratitude: “For me, what this whole event represents is the fact that we want to thank everybody who has continued to come to our businesses during the last three months as we have been under construction.”
She continued, “I know a lot of people when they come to our classes have had to walk blocks to get to our classes and just the fact that they've continued to support us, even if it means, leaving work sooner or going back later, the fact that they've kept us in business the last three months has been really heartwarming for me.”
