GREAT FALLS — UPDATE: 10-03-2026, 3:20 p.m. — Great Falls Police say that the infant who was stabbed along with 4 other people on Friday night has died.
According to an update from the Great Falls Police Department, the infant succumbed to her injuries and died. Authorities are not releasing names to ensure family notifications have been made.
The charges for the suspect reportedly will be amended to homicide.
Police are unable to confirm any legitimate fundraising efforts at this time.

UPDATE: 10-3-2026, 11 a.m. — Just hours after a stabbing near Great Falls High, police found five people, including an infant, stabbed.
Great Falls Police officers responded at approximately 11:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, to a call at a home in the 3800 block of 7th St. NE.
All victims were transported to Benefis Emergency Department with critical injuries. Police report a man was taken into custody as he tried to flee the scene.
Detectives remain on the scene Saturday as they continue to investigate.
This was the second reported stabbing in Great Falls on Friday night.
Police say both stabbing incidents stretched response capabilities, causing GFPD to prioritize an "Emergency Only" response for the remainder of the night.

Officers responded to the first stabbing at approximately 9:45 p.m., finding one man suffering from a life-threatening stab wound after he reportedly attempted to break up an altercation between a man and a woman.
Police stated they anticipate sharing more information at a later time.

GREAT FALLS — A student was taken to the hospital after being stabbed across the street from Great Falls High School following its homecoming football game, according to Great Falls Public Schools.
The district said law enforcement officers were on campus for game security. Great Falls police, school administrators, faculty and coaches responded quickly, and the student was transported by ambulance.
The district is conducting a school investigation while the Great Falls Police Department handles the criminal investigation.
The release did not provide the student’s condition or information about a suspect or any arrests.
GFPS said it will update the school community when it can, but will not comment on the ongoing investigation.
