The Lewis and Clark Sheriff's office released preliminary findings Friday on a deadly diving accident in Canyon Ferry Reservoir in June.

Jesse Hubbell was with an out-of-state production company and was shooting video for John Mues, who, at the time was a prospective political candidate.

According to the sheriff's office an examination of the diving equipment and boat has been completed, and that examination found no deficiencies with the rented boat.

The sheriff's office says an evaluation of other items suggest that equipment issues and diver inexperience may have been contributing factors in Hubbell's death.

Investigators are still waiting on air samples from both of the divers' tanks.

Mues and Hubbell were both in the water at the time Hubbell began having trouble.

Mues attempted to help help Hubbell but was unsuccessful.
