MISSOULA — The 9th annual Community Cup Hockey Tournament is being held at Glacier Ice Rink this weekend and games started Friday evening.
The Tournament is for players with all skill levels and the tournament rules are in place to help competitiveness at the top.
Each team can only have 2 cup players, 2 intermediate, 2 players over 45, 2 women and 2 people working in the medical field.
There is also a chuck a puck fundraiser that happens during the tournament.
Community Cup is help put together by the Community Health Foundation and all the money goes back to the community.
"We raise money for different things in the community. Usually they are medically oriented and this year its all about concussions. We have the Dylan Steigerts concussion project," Community Cup founder Tim Richards said. "The brain injury alliance of Montana and also for Glacier Ice Rink we are raising money for those guys and glacier ice rink actually is going to use the money for adaptive skating letting paraplegics and all of those kind of folks skate."
The past two years Glacier Ice Rinks team the Chaperons have won the event.
