MISSOULA — The Clark Fork River above Missoula is forecast to reach flood stage by Friday afternoon due to snow melt.
Higher than average temperatures this week will result in accelerated mountain snow melt and increased streamflow on the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers.
The latest forecast shows the Clark Fork above Missoula reaching minor flood stage by Friday afternoon.
Low lying areas near the Clark Fork River along with the Orchard Homes area may see minor impacts from flooding Friday into Saturday.
Waters will then drop back below flood stage by Sunday morning and remain below flood stage with cooler temperatures arriving early next week.
