KALISPELL — A Kalispell shelter is near capacity and needs more supplies after temperatures have dramatically drop in the Flathead Valley.

Items for lunches, silverware, cleaning supplies, coffee, sheets, socks, men's boots and jeans are all needed. Items can be delivered to the Samaritan House at 124 9th Ave West Kalispell MT.

Samaritan House Executive Director Chris Krager says the shelter has a cold weather contingency plan, meaning that if the temperature drops below 20 degrees, the shelter takes in anyone needing a bed -- even if they are full.

Krager reminds people that when weather gets cold, homelessness can be fatal in Montana. The Samaritan house has only four beds available as of Wednesday.
