Due to the changing weather patterns that brought heavy rain, snow and winds, many people throughout Montana have been experiencing power outages.

Northwestern energy has reported several power outages across the state due to the severe weather.

As well as, Flathead Co-Op had reported 1,427 people have been affected in at least six power outages in the Flathead Valley.

Heavy winds are bringing big waves crashing along the shore and the Lake County Office of Emergency Management is advising people to stay off of the lake.

Lake County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Clary says the northern part of the lake has been especially choppy and that they have seen some boats struggling to get off the lake this morning.

And just off the water, fallen trees lined Highway 35 and drivers are advised to avoid this highway as clean up crews clear off the roadway.
