KALISPELL — Flathead County planners are recommending that the county commissioners approve a proposed hotel, restaurant, and bar in West Glacier.

County planner Erin Appert says county planners will meet on Wednesday, March 11 to recommend the proposed site to Flathead County Commissioners.

According to documents, a North Dakota company has plans for a hotel, restaurant, and bar at the old Glacier Heli-Tours property in West Glacier.

Hunter’s Lair LLC proposed a hotel that would have up to six rooms, a restaurant, and a bar. Additionally, a larger hotel next to it would have 30 units, a recreation area, and employee housing.

Documents also state that not all structures will be completely new. The plan is to remodel existing structures for the restaurant and some of the hotel units.

Appert told MTN News that once they meet, commissioners have 50 days from that meeting to decide whether to approve or deny the project.
