MISSOULA — Anyone who stopped by Southgate Mall on Friday or Saturday may have noticed a special fundraising event that was happening.

With two gaming monitors, several couches and table top games, Gaming It Forward had begun.

Gaming It Forward is a 24-hour live-streaming and gaming event where anyone could sign up to game for one hour during 5pm on Friday to 5pm Saturday inside the mall.

The event was hoping to fundraise one thousand dollars toward Children’s Miracle Network and Shodair Children’s Hospital.

Gaming It Forward was brought to life by Gamestop Store Manager, J.W. McClintic and Lauren Poppen, the Marketing Director of Southgate Mall.

Poppen and McClintic say that the response from gamers and participants has been well received and they hope to make this an annual event

“Id love this to be an annual event. I’d love this to have other people get involved with, I'd love to have three or four or five stations that kids can play at and people can kind of come together as a community raise money together and have a good time together,” said McClintic.

The event also had treats and refreshments for the gamers and spectators.
