Helena Toyota awarded bikes to 90 students from 16 Helena-area schools.

The bikes are part of Helena Toyota’s first annual Read to Ride program partnered with Big Sky Cycling and the Montana Radio Company. The program encouraged students grades K-5 to log time spent reading for a chance to win a chance for a bike.

In total, the program received close to 20,000 entries and over half a million of minutes were logged reading. Names were randomly drawn at the end of the program on May 22nd, 2020.

“Reading is so important. If you can read, it opens the gateways to anything you want to do in your life. So, reading is huge. We always want to send that message, reading and learning. As they come here today to get their bike, we are excited for them to be able to get their reward for all their hard work," says Jim Stanger, Helena Toyota President.

The program began March 16th, 2020, the day after Governor Bullock ordered the school closures.
