2nd Annual Clean Energy Expo held in Missoula

and last updated

The Missoula City Council passed a resolution in April to run on 100% clean energy by the year 2030.

Climate Smart Missoula held their second Clean Energy Expo at Caras Park on Saturday to help raise awareness about clean energy.

People braved the cold to learn about solar panels, sustainable business practices, and zero waste initiatives.

Local elected officials gave updates on net metering and rooftop solar policies and one of Mountain Line's electric buses also made an appearance.

Climate Smart Missoula organizer Abby Huseth said she knows clean energy can be controversial, but believes it can work for everyone.

"We talked to the solar installers who are here today providing local jobs for our community. I think there's so many things that everybody can take part in, and it's really an opportunity for all of us to come together."

Huseth also says they plan on making this event annual in the future.
