MISSOULA — The COVID-19 outbreak has a lot of people at home in Montana.

While you may be tempted to get a jump start on spring cleaning, officials with Easter Seals-Goodwill are asking you to hold onto your item a little while longer.

Spokeswoman Chelle Fried says Goodwill stores closed Friday before the "stay-at-home" order took effect this weekend.

The stores, along with all adult day programs are temporarily closed due to staffing shortages as the organization takes pandemic precautions and is following the governor's directive.

"So, we just encourage people to kind of set those inside in the garage or basement until stores open,” said Fried. “Because, we'll definitely need those donations to reboot all our stores and our programs and we don't want to see the stuff go to the landfill."

Freed says they're seeing a big need for their clinical programs, which are considered essential and remain open.
