MISSOULA — A high-speed chase involving Missoula police ended in a woman's arrest on Wednesday evening.

According to a sergeant with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, a deputy traveling on Highway 93 passed a vehicle going 10 MPH over the speed limit. It started as a routine traffic stop, then the vehicle sped up and began cutting people off.

After another attempted traffic stop, the suspect failed to yield and it turned into a pursuit. The pursuit ended up near 4th and Russell streets in Missoula. There was no damage to vehicles or bystanders.

The 29-year-old woman, whose name was not provided, was arrested for criminal endangerment and various traffic violations.

According to the sergeant on scene, speeds varied from 80 to 95 MPH on the highway.

The suspect stopped on her own.

The vehicle is registered from out-of-state but was listed as a rental so it is unknown whether the woman is a Missoula resident.
