MISSOULA — New Years Eve in downtown Missoula has several options on what to do for that stroke of midnight that will bring us into the twenties.
Monks will have a roaring twenties party, Plonk will have their annual ball drop with champagne and the Badlander will have local DJs on their decks.
The Wilma will have bluegrass group Lil Smokies and the Top Hat will have home grown local favorites, the band Shakewell.
"Top Hat is our favorite venue in the world probably. Crowds are always good," guitarist Emmet Ore said.
"We love playing here especially on New Year’s," drummer Aaron Johnson added.
Ore tells MTN News that there will be several special guests performing with them in their show.
"We got a bunch of friends, other bands, we have a full four-piece horn section tonight, we have a good buddy who is visiting from Massachusetts who is a monster musician ... it's going to be special," said Ore.
"Lots of new material, lots of classic Shakewell material and some added magic with all the extra players and everything that they bring to the table," Johnson said about the show.
Johnson adds that he thinks the music scene is better than it has been in a lot of ways.
"So many good shows happening tons of artists coming through and still seeing the representation of local artists local talent and keeping everyone involved," Johnson said.
Doors for the show open at 10pm with opener Blake Braley taking the stage at 10:15pm.
