MISSOULA — The Poverello Center in Missoula is getting ready for Nov. 1 when they open up their winter warming shelter but they still need the help with transportation efforts between their shelter and the Salvation Army.

The Poverello Center and the Salvation Army are partnering together to provide Missoula's homeless population with winter weather shelters this year.

Some $40,000 is still needed to help the Poverallo and the Salvation Army to fill the gap for staffing and managing.

Transportation donations will help move people between the two centers which will happen more this season to do the collaborative effort between the two organizations.

Poverello Center Executive Driector Amy Allison Thompson says the collaboration was made to help provide transportation for the homeless between the two centers.

"Our hope is to round up enough vans essentially and volunteers to help provide that transportation and that was something that occurred last winter and we are hoping to do the same thing again."

"But, we really don’t have a budget for that so we are relying on volunteers to assist us with that and are excited for the opportunity to be partnering with a few churches in our community to do that as well."

Both the Poverelllo Center and Salvation Army hope that the collaboration between the two will limit times that one of the centers are full while the other is empty.
