MISSOULA — The Missoula Rural Fire District will be hosting a class for firefighters focusing on ways to provide support for PTSD and other behavioral health for their colleagues.

This Peer Support Training from the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) also seeks to provide the firefighters with the knowledge to support their coworkers who may need it.

Firefighters have a 22% chance of experiencing PTSD and a 7%-to-11% chance of having depression according to the IAFF.

There will be firefighters from across the Northwest attending the class which will take place on Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Missoula.
