MISSOULA — During the COVID 19 pandemic first responders continue to be called upon to serve and protect our community but what are those agencies doing to protect our first responders?

MPD public information officer Sergeant Travis Welsh says that Missoula Police are continuing to respond to emergency calls, but an emphasis is being put on social distancing requirements.

Officers all have proper protective equipment or PPE when responding to calls and that can range from gloves to a full protective suit.

Multiple training sessions and daily briefings keep officers informed on new developments with this evolving global pandemic and all of those sessions give the officers the tools to figure out how to respond to each incident in the safest manner possible.
