BONNER — The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is investigating vandalism that occurred on new no parking signs near the Clark Fork River.
Law enforcement reports 23 of the signs were painted sometime Thursday night in the Bonner area and the signs will most likely need to be replaced.
The no parking signs were put up this year after the Missoula County Commissioners made it illegal to park in the area-a popular non-official river access point.
Residents in the area say people recreating on the river are a nuisance, and the sheriff's office says lines of vehicles are a hazard for emergency vehicles that might need to access the area.
MCSO says it is ticketing cars illegally parked in the area and will tow vehicles if it has to.
