RONAN — Drive-by celebrations are becoming a common theme among the public as a way to celebrate special occasions while maintaining social distancing.
On Saturday morning, the community of Ronan did just that for Glenn and Vicki Rogers who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
The Rogers family set up the celebration as a surprise for Glenn and Vicki beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Firetrucks, cop cars and vehicles of all kinds drove by the Rogers residence, honking and shouting their support and congratulations for their milestone marriage achievement.
Both Glenn, 72, and Vicki, 70, are battling brain cancer
Glenn and Vicki's daughter, Tammy Husted, told MTN News that they, "wanted to celebrate and give some happiness" to their parents. Husted posted the event on Facebook Live for those to watch as well.
At the end of the video, Vicki thanked those who came out by saying, "Thank you everyone for remembering 50 years."
