LOLO — The Snowgoers Snowmobilers Association hosted its “Family Fun Run” for the 32nd consecutive year, raising money for the club and promoting the sport of snowmobiling.
The Family Fun Run is a poker style event operated on 40 miles of groomed trails, participants receive bingo sheets at the start, then collect a number at each check point along the trail.
Once back at home base, snowmobilers draw for the high and low hand of each bingo sheet.
Organizers say this is their biggest fundraiser of the year, consistently bringing in upwards of 100 participants.
Operating as a volunteer organization, Snowgoers grooms and maps nearly 500 miles of trails in Lolo Pass and Garnet Ghost Town.
The funds raised from Sunday’s event are crucial for maintaining those trails.
"It’s important to keep our trail systems open and we also give back to a non profit organization so it’s also a portion of that, so just keeping the sport and all winter sports open," Snowgoers Snowmobiliers Association member Sienna Morgan.
Snowmobilers sponsors a number of other events throughout riding season. Their events are family-oriented and open to all ages.
