This year, Zoo Montana is offering teachers the opportunity to see all of its animals for free.

Starting Dec. 19 until Jan. 3, the winter break for Montana schools, teachers at all levels will have access to the zoo after providing proof of their teacher credentials.

“We appreciate teachers so much. As educators ourselves, we know how much teachers are going through and how much they have been through,” said Jeff Ewelt, ZooMontana executive director, Monday afternoon.

Ewelt said ZooMontana wanted this to serve as a thank you for all teachers have done during this tough time.

“It’s an easy thing that we can do to allow them to come in, to have a little time to themselves with their family and enjoy their community asset that is ZooMontana,” said Ewelt.

Ewelt said that animals at the zoo will still be active during the winter season. He said the zoo will also be a bit slower with guests, so teachers may have the zoo to themselves.

Ewelt said that free admission will only apply to teachers who visit the zoo and not the whole family.

“We want to thank teachers for being out on those frontlines, helping our kids out and ensuring that they are still getting their education even when times are tough,” said Ewelt.
