There will be a parade in Great Falls on Friday, February 7th, to honor military and emergency personnel in our community.

The parade is aimed primarily at honoring the men and women of Malmstrom Air Force Base for several recent notable achievements, and will also pay respect to first-responders in our community, including police officers and firefighters.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 3 pm on Friday at Malmstrom, and will travel west down 2nd Avenue North; at 8th Street, they will head south to Central Avenue and then continue to the Civic Center.

Central Avenue and side streets will remain open, so please watch for other traffic.

In November 2019, during the annual Air Force Global Strike Challenge, the Malmstrom teams went up against missile operators and maintainers, security forces personnel, and airmen and teams from other Air Force bases with similar missions.

Among the awards that Malmstrom won were the Blanchard Trophy for "Best ICBM Wing" - marking the third year in a row for Malmstrom.

Other awards brought home by Malmstrom: Best Facility Maintenance Section Team; Best Missile Communications Team; Best Helicopter Security Response; Doolittle Trophy for Innovation Excellence; and the Spirit Bell (awarded to the team who best represents Global Strike Challenge teamwork and esprit de corps).
