MISSOULA – Quick work by fire crews helped contain an early morning fire.
Missoula Rural Fire District crews were called out to reports of a structure fire at Northwest Paint, Inc. on Bonner Mill Road in West Riverside shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
MRFD Captain Ron Lubke says crews arrived to find a fire burning along the base of the exterior of the building in grass, sawdust and debris next to a large natural gas line.
Lubke says crews were able to quickly stop the blaze with only minor damage being done to the building exterior. He added that it’s been determined that the fire was caused by improperly disposed smoking materials.
