MISSOULA – The Downtown Missoula Partnership is inviting the community to take part in the Missoula Master Plan Community Kickoff event on Thursday.

It’s been nearly 10 years since the last Master Plan was implemented and now the planning firm of Dover, Kohl, and Partners will guide the community through an assessment of that plan and develop a new strategic plan.

Officials with the Downtown Missoula Partnership say they have seen successes from the 2009 plan including a new parking garage, growth in housing, improved transit and parking meters.

All of the attendees at the meeting will have the opportunity to share their thoughts.

“We’ll do some electronic polling with the guests at the meeting to really get some sense on what they like, what they don’t like, what their priorities are, where they are from, what they want to see for downtown.” said Downtown Missoula Partnership Executive Director Linda McCarthy.

McCarthy added that the Downtown Master Plan is a year-long process and further community meetings will be held in the coming months.

The meeting will be held on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Wilma Thursday in downtown Missoula. Click here to view the Master Plan.
