Winter storm brings slick driving conditions to Western MT

HUSON – An early Wednesday morning semi truck crash is slowing traffic on Interstate 90 west of Missoula.

The Frenchtown Rural Fire District is on the scene of the accident which was reported shortly before 6:45 a.m. on I-90 west near the Huson exit.

The semi truck flipped on its side and is blocking the left lane one mile west of the Huson exit. FRFD is reporting there are icy road conditions in the area.

Drivers can are urged to use caution in the area and expect delays.

Accidents were also being reported early Wednesday on US Highway 93 north of Whitefish, on Montana Highway 200 near Dixon as well as in Hamilton and Kalispell.

Freezing rain was being reported on Interstate 90 in the Superior area as well as along Montana Highway 200 between Bonner and Greenough causing slick travel conditions.

Crews were also working on removing a tree that was partially blocking Tyler Way in Lolo near the intersection of Dorie Lane.

Overnight weather conditions also prompted Alberton schools to delay the start of classes by two hours on Wednesday.
