Damaged power pole forces Missoula park, trail closure

Posted

MISSOULA – A tree that damaged a power pole has forced a park and trail closure in Missoula.

The eastern end of the Jacobs Island Bark Park has been closed as well as a section of the Kim Williams Trail behind the University of Montana Facilities Building.

City officials add that all public use of the Kim Williams Trail is being detoured through the M Trailhead on campus.

The closures are caused by a wind-toppled tree that has damaged a power pole and the line could fall.

NorthWestern Energy crew members are working to remedy the situation.
