MISSOULA — Three people were able to escape an early Thursday morning Missoula house fire.
The Missoula City Fire Department was called to a home in the 2100 block of Seventh Street West at approximately 3:20 a.m.
Fire officials report that two family members and a child woke up with smoke in the house which was found to be in the kitchen area.
One of the residents emptied a fire extinguisher on the fire and quickly got the remaining two occupants out of the house, according to a news release.
The Missoula Rural Fire District and the Missoula City Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the smoldering fire.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
