MISSOULA — High winds and cold temperatures canceled some St Patrick's day weekend events in Missoula.
The 40th annual St. Patrick's Day parade was even called off on Saturday morning.
Organizers say a lot of the planned floats decided to drop out last minute, due to wind and frigid temperatures in the downtown area.
The parade was planned for noon, and was officially called off around 10 a.m. With limited participation, organizers didn't see it fit to continue.
Ronald Bernard with the Ancient Order of Hibernians says there was confusion about if the event would be held or not.
"Well I think weather wise they're probably a little happy, because we have a long march out there, but just the fact that we won't have the 40th is unfortunate,” he told MTN News.
The Run for the Luck of it fun run was also canceled early Saturday due to the same high winds and cold temperatures.
