MISSOULA — Construction begins on Monday on South 5th Street West and South 6th Street West.
The Montana Department of Transportation will work throughout September and to resurface the roadway and improve pavement lines.
If you typically use 5th or 6th Street West between Higgins Avenue and Russell Street, this will affect you.
On-street parking is currently not permitted in the project area during work hours, which are generally Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Access to residents and businesses will remain open throughout this work.
Missoula District Construction Engineer John Schmidt said the project will build on the city’s previous work in the Riverfront neighborhood
Once the work is completely finished, travelers will experience a much smoother ride on South 5th and 6th streets with clearer roadway lines.
