MISSOULA — A hazardous materials spill shut down an area on Missoula's north side Tuesday night after a sewage truck crashed.
It appears the driver took a corner too sharp and tipped over, which caused hazardous materials to spill on to the railroad tracks near the intersection of Railroad and Russell streets.
Missoula Police say the driver of the truck ran from the scene.
A Hazmat team and Montana Rail Link are looking into the accident and a couple of roads in the area were closed as crews worked to clean up the spill. Iron Horse Towing removed the vehicle, which is from Sweet Pea sewer and septic.
