MISSOULA — The Montana Highway Patrol has put out a rather unusual request for help on social media.
MHP is looking for the public's help in finding a cow that was hit by a vehicle early on Thursday morning.
The incident happened at around 4 a.m. near Clements Road and Mount Avenue when a vehicle apparently hit the animal.
By the time law enforcement arrived, the black cow was nowhere to be found.
HP reports that after searching for two hours, Trooper Robert Strauch still could not find the animal.
It's believed that the cow is injured based on the blood at the scene and MHP says they want to get the cow the medical attention it needs.
Trooper Strauch would also like to locate the owner of the cow. Anyone with information is asked to call (406) 529-3223.
