MISSOULA — The Missoula Fire Department will be conducting ice rescue training on Wednesday and Thursday.
There will be emergency apparatus and personnel on Rattlesnake Creek near the Greenough Park pavilion until 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
The training exercise will move to the Clark Fork River near the public boat ramp at McCormick Park on Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
City fire officials note that the trainings are “not a demonstration, but a technical rescue training exercise for our firefighters.”
The Missoula Fire Department is also urging people and their pets to stay safe by keeping off river ice.
