MISSOULA — Here's your chance to pay off your parking fines in Missoula while also helping out a good cause.
The Missoula Parking Commission is running a food drive throughout the month of November to help the Missoula Food Bank.
The Parking Commission will accept donations of non-perishable food items toward the payment of outstanding citations.
Each item donated will count for $2 off the balance on the vehicle, up to $10 off, through Nov. 30.
Donations can be drooped off at the Missoula Parking Commission at 128 West Main Street weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
All non-perishable food items (with the exception of opened, damaged or out-of-date items) are welcome.
Some of the items needed include:
• Canned tuna or meat
• Peanut butter
• Canned fruits (in juice)
• Canned vegetables (low/no sodium)
• Low-fat salad dressings
• Canned chili
• Cooking oil
• Tomato sauce
• Canned beans
• Shelf-stable milk
• Oatmeal
• Canned soups (low sodium)
• Pasta
• Baby formula
• Baby food
• Whole-grain items
• Gluten-free items
• Low sodium/low sugar items
