MISSOULA — The Missoula VA Clinic is providing flu shot clinics for area veterans.
Missoula-area veterans can receive walk-in flu shots at the Missoula VA Clinic at 2687 Palmer Street in the Suite C lobby.
The shots are available during the following days:
- Mondays & Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
- Thursdays & Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Influenza is a vaccine-preventable disease and can cause severe illness. In 2019, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated there were more than 410,000 flu-related hospitalizations and more than 24,000 deaths in the United States during the flu season.
The flu will have the most negative impacts on children and high risk groups such as adults who are 65 years or older, pregnant women, people in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, individuals with medical conditions and people with weakened immune systems.
