MISSOULA — Due to the coronavirus being present in Missoula, a group of volunteers are working together to help neighbors in need.

Toffer Lenhair and his support system of friends have put together the Facebook group COVID-19 Mutual Aid Organizing to help create a place for people to discuss how this is impacting them or even if they need help getting groceries or childcare.

Lenhair saw the news stories of how COVID-19 is impacting most of his neighbors and made the Facebook page to help those who are more vulnerable to the illness to have a way to avoid public spaces. He's happy with how the community has responded.

"I just think that this is really about neighbors supporting each other, and I have been really astounded to the compassion and empathy that people have been responding to,” Lenhair told MTN News.

Anyone interested in helping the community out or even need help yourself during this trying time you can visit Missoula COVID-19 Managing Outreach on Facebook.
