MISSOULA — The Parade of Lights will be held on Saturday and will include children's activities, entertainment, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The day begins with free or low-cost children’s activities hosted by downtown businesses and organizations from 10 a.m.-to-5 p.m.

Santa arrives to meet Mrs. Claus at 1 p.m. at the Mercantile using sustainable transportation provided by the Mountain Line.

Following his arrival, photos with Santa will be in the Mercantile hallway until 5 p.m.

There will be free cocoa, music provided by the Childbloom Guitar Program, bonfires, and the lighting of the Downtown Holiday Tree.

The parade's theme "Lights Around the World" begins at 6 p.m. on the Hip Strip and travels North on Higgins to end at the Red XXX’s.

New organizations will be appearing in the parade this year.

Prizes for parade entries include Best School Entry, Best Religious Entry, Best Commercial Entry, and Best Civic/Nonprofit Entry.

The Parade of Lights has been sponsored by TrailWest Bank and Blackfoot.
