Victim of fatal Great Falls crash identified

GREAT FALLS - The woman who died in a crash on I-15 on Monday evening has been identified as Judy Montgomery Futral of Great Falls.

Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said in a news release on Tuesday afternoon that Futral, 66, was the only person in the vehicle.

He noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle by the force of the crash.

Family members have been notified, according to Sheriff Slaughter.

The Montana Highway Patrol investigated the crash and determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was accidental

One person died in a crash along I-15 in Great Falls on Monday.

The crash was reported to the Montana Highway Patrol at 6 p.m. on Monday.

It happened just north of mile marker 279 in the southbound lane, near where the highway crosses under Sun River Lane.

Traffic was delayed for some time as emergency crews cleared the scene.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
