BUTTE – A home on Easy Street in Butte was destroyed in a fire Wednesday morning.
The Butte Fire Department was called to the structure fire in the 1400 block of Easy Street just before 11 a.m. to find a garage with a vehicle in it completely engulfed in flames.
The fire quickly spread to the house and the occupant was able to escape unharmed. One bystander in the area ran to the scene after seeing black smoke in the air.
“All of the sudden I happen to look up and all the sudden there are flames and I heard an explosion in the back and I come running down here because my parents live over here on Ram Street and I ran all the way over,” said Jamie Smith.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
