GREAT FALLS – The man who died in a one-car crash in Great Falls on Friday has been identified as Dana Bennett.

Bennett was 41 years old, according to a press release from the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported to the Great Falls Police Department at around 9:25 p.m.

According to the GFPD, Bennett was the only occupant of the vehicle and appeared to be traveling toward River Drive South at speeds around 70 miles per hour.

Witnesses told the GFPD that Bennett passed one vehicle before pulling back into the correct lane. The vehicle then went off the road, overcorrected, caught, and rolled several times.

The vehicle came to rest near the intersection by Lower River Road; Bennett was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to Benefis Health System but later died.

Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the crash, according to the GFPD.
