ANACONDA – The principal at Anaconda’s junior and senior high school who was under investigation in connection with a controversial text message has resigned.
Anaconda’s school superintendent has confirmed that Shawn Hansen submitted his resignation on Monday.
The decision came after Hansen was being investigated over a complaint lodged in September by a 19-year-old former student who claimed Hansen sent him a message he believed was inappropriate.
Anaconda police report that the 19-year-old said Hansen had sent him a text message that he believed that was asking him out on a date.
Police looked into the matter and found no illegal activity, saying this text was between two adults and, at this point, aren’t seeking any criminal charges.
