GREAT FALLS – One of Great Falls College MSU’s programs will benefit from the passing of House Bill 652.

Great Falls College MSU CEO and Dean Dr. Susan Wolff said she learned of the infrastructure bill’s passage last week.

“The dentists and dental hygienists all across the state recognize the importance of oral healthcare because it all starts in the mouth. And if you do not have a healthy mouth, we will not have good health overall,” Wolff said.

After six years of hard work, the dental program at the college will expand and both the dental hygiene and dental assistant programs will be housed in a new facility.

Wolff said it will not only help the students but the patients they serve.

“I am really particularly excited for what this means for our students. We can never accept the full number of students who apply,” Wolff said.

With the new building, they can accept 26 students into the program, instead of just 18.

According to GFC MSU, the dental hygiene expansion will provide a high return on investment to the state with the potential for 52 dental hygiene students graduating annually.

The next step in the process is starting to work with the State Department of Architecture and Engineering.

They hope to be in the new building by the fall of 2021.
