BILLINGS — A two-vehicle head-on crash on North 27th Street just north of the Rimrock Road intersection sent four people to the hospital in Billings around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

A section of North 27th Street was blocked off while the Billings Police Department investigated the crash.

Billings Police Lt. Brian Krivitz said a four-door Chrysler was traveling northbound on North 27th Street when for unknown reasons the driver crossed the center line. The Chrysler collided head on with a silver four-door Toyota traveling southbound.

The Chrysler was occupied by one male while a male, female, and young child were in the Toyota. Billings firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free some of the crash victims. Krivitz couldn't say how many had to be extracted.

All four people were transported by ambulance to a Billings hospital.

Krivitz said speed is considered a factor in this crash but it's too early to tell if drugs or alcohol were involved.
